Our Save-the-Date
When Jeremy & I got engaged I immediately began to think about what type of invitations we should create. Jeremy & I don’t often design together so the process of making the wedding stationery could have been difficult but for us- it was an absolute blast. We spent many nights in front of the computer tweaking and changing each piece. There was never a single disagreement. If you can put two designers at work and they agree on a vision and like what the other is creating- it must really be love.
Jeremy & I have a love for letterpress printing and the work of HATCH Show Print. Nashville- based Hatch continues to use old press techniques with wood blocks to create amazing posters with a very distinctive look. These old time posters were the inspiration behind our save-the-date postcards and our wedding invitations (coming soon).
The save-the-date was designed using various wood type fonts and printed digitally on KRAFT paper. We wanted to do a simple postcard style so we would have an area to write a short note to our friends and family. I loved the final product, especially the vibrant colors and the effect of the block lettering.
